Hi! We are visiting Walt Disney World from 1/20-1-26 and have already made several dining reservations and noted my daughters food allergies when making the reservations. Do I still need to call the restaurant beforehand, or will they have that info? Thx

    Hi Nicole,

Your vacation is so close and you must be excited for your trip!

My daughter has a shellfish allergy and we have never had an issue. We just returned from the Walt Disney World Resorts with my nephew who is allergic to eggs, dairy and nuts. For both allergies, we noted it on our reservations. At the table service meals, we just reminded our server that we had an allergy and they sent the chef to discuss the menu.

For counter service meals, we notified the cast member taking our order and he or she called over another cast member. This cast member took my nephew's order and made recommendations what he could have to eat at that restaurant similar to a chef at the table service. His meal was prepared separate from the rest of our order.

His parents could not believe the level of service the cast members provided to my nephew. For example, we were at a buffet for New Years Eve and the chef brought him filet mignon and roasted potatoes which were not on the menu. She also said the potatoes would take 20 minutes to prepare and she did not want to impact our plans but it would be her pleasure to make the potatoes.

If you have any additional questions, I would email the team at Special Diets at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com and they will answer any additional questions.

    Wishing you a magical day!
    Beth
