We're visiting with three children who are terrified of aliens. I know there are two distinct themes to the Great Movie ride depending upon which line you go in. Does either of them NOT include the alien from "Alien"? Thanks for your help!

You are correct that there are two slightly different versions of the Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios. However, all of the differences are in the live action portion of the ride (one version is a gangster shootout and one version is a cowboy shootout). The rest of the ride is the same, including the creepy drop-down alien. (My kids, and I, close our eyes for that part.)

If you want to avoid all aliens, you should also skip the Star Tours ride at DHS and Stitch's Great Escape at the Magic Kingdom. The Monsters Inc Laugh Factory also plenty of alien-esque creatures in the show, but most kids find them more cartoonish than scary. And I don't know if the Stitch character is a problem, but you should know that he appears at breakfast at Ohana in the Polynesian and can also sometimes be found greeting guests in the following locations: near the life vest distribution area at Typhoon Lagoon, near the Camp Minnie Mickey DVC sales kiosk at the Animal Kingdom, near the Carousel of Progress at the Magic Kingdom.

    Good luck with your planning!
