I am visiting this summer (2010) to Walt Disney World, Florida. Is there any seat size restrictions? I am of the larger man, and need to know about any chest or width restrictions on any of the rides, Many Thanks

Hi, James!  I come from a pretty Pooh sized family, and at my highest weight of over 300 pounds, there isn't anything at Walt Disney World I couldn't do or couldn't ride.  Many of the attractions have bench type seats, so they can adjust the number of people who sit with you on the bench if you need a little extra space, and you can always tell the Cast Members when you board other attractions that you are a party of one, ensuring you have adequate space on the seat.

A wonderful resource for larger people can be found at allears.net.  Search for WDW at Large, and you'll find all sorts of tips and tricks for navigating Walt Disney World when there's more of you to love!  You'll find helpful hints that include pulling the seat belts out all the way before you sit down; and in theater seats, sit on the edge of the seat and slide back, making it easier to fit more comfortably.

I also want to say, in my experience, the Cast Members have always been helpful and discreet at dealing with concerns.  As an overweight woman, I used to ask not to use the turnstile and was accommodated through the gate instead; and I've never felt  uncomfortable asking before boarding a ride of there would be any issue with my size.  Again, I never had an issue with being able to fit.  It's yet another in the long list of reasons I love Walt Disney World.

    Have a wonderful vacation, James!
