We will be visiting in September on Deluxe Dining Plan and we want to go to Polynesian Luau. It shows we have to sit in Category 2 or 3. If we choose Category 1, does it apply as well or do we have to pay the difference?

    Hi Dawn,

If you'd like to pay for a meal at the Spirit of Aloha Luau using Disney Dining Plan credits, you'll have to sit in category 2 or 3 seating. There is no mechanism to upgrade to category 1 by paying a price premium. If you'd like to sit in category 1 seating, then you'll have to pay out of pocket (cash, credit card, etc.) rather than with dining plan credits.

In my experience, the category two seating is not much better than the category one seating. I wouldn't be overly concerned with this. Just relax and enjoy the show.

    Have a great time!
