Hi there! We will be visiting the parks the week of 4th of July. Are there any particular events occurring during that week? I heard there may be a "run" at Animal Kingdom?

Hello there, Cassandra! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out and ask your Walt Disney World Resort question!

Holidays are a particularly fun time to visit Walt Disney World Resort! In addition to the fun, everyday experiences, there are often special events and activities unique to the holidays going on as well. Historically, there have been quite a few offerings available to Guests during the week of July 4th! This has included fun activities at the Disney Resort hotels and special Disney Character Meet and Greets inside of the parks.

There have not been any official announcements regarding special activities available during the week of July 4th at this time. However, it is already known that the fantastic “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will be taking place on July 3rd and July 4th at Magic Kingdom. In addition, "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth" will also feature a patriotic twist during its showing on July 4th.

If you're interested in keeping up-to-date on any Disney-related announcements, I would recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog website. Any announcements pertaining to special offerings during the week of July 4th will be announced here as soon as they are available!

Have fun continuing to plan for your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!
