Hello, friend! Welcome to planDisney.
How exciting! A trip to the
Walt Disney World Resort with your 3-year-old son! I can't think of a more special time to visit the resort. He is going to be astounded by the sights, the sounds, and the smells around him. Speaking of smells,
Smellephants on Parade just
recently opened in
Magic Kingdom Park. While I haven't yet experienced it myself, I'm pretty sure your family will enjoy using the illustrated map of the land to guide you in becoming a Whiff-sistant for Timothy Q. Mouse! I have no problem letting my nose be my guide, especially when I'm sniffing out popcorn, churros, and cotton candy! Just beware that it may give your son some ideas about actually consuming all of the treats. Which, when you're in Magic Kingdom Park, is pretty much mandatory in my opinion!
If you'd like to buy your theme park ticket in advance, simply go to the
Theme Park Tickets page of the website and select the blue "Continue" button next to the ticket type you're interested in. If you'd like to be able to visit Magic Kingdom Park,
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and a
water park and have it be a 3-day ticket valid within 5 days, you'll want to scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the "Continue" button next to "Theme Park Ticket." On the next page, you'll select 3 days, your start date, and the Water Park and Sports Option. This will give you access to any of the four theme parks (one park per day) on any of the days within the 5-day window, as well as 3 separate admissions to other Walt Disney World Resort fun, which includes a water park.
Even if you don't think you'll need the 3 separate admissions to a water park or other included offerings, I just priced out a few example dates, and adding the Water Park and Sports Option was an extra $70 a ticket and just buying a 1-day ticket to the water parks was $74 by itself. So, in my example, it was $4 cheaper (not including tax) by adding the Water Park and Sports Option and you could go to the water park more than once, or miniature golf, or a combination (for a combined total of 3 separate admissions)! Now, prices are subject to change and can vary based on dates, so you'll want to price it out for yourself before making a decision.
