Visiting OKW Nov 16-24 with my mom and other family members. She was just put on a blood thinner & will need her levels checked while there. Is there a place on property that can do finger pokes to check her levels? Thanks for any info!

    Hi Lisa!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love a family that vacations together! At the Walt Disney World Resort, there truly is something for every member of the family. This is just one of the many reasons we return year after year.

I am a Registered Nurse, so I do have some experience with navigating the medical system. First, I can tell you that there aren't any locations on Walt Disney World property that offer medical testing, so you’ll need to look into making alternate arrangements.

I would begin by having your mom speak with her doctor. Travel should always be approved by her doctor first, and you may need a doctor’s order to have any testing done. Perhaps the doctor’s office works with one of the national laboratory companies, and could arrange for her to have her necessary testing done at a lab in the Orlando area. I would also have her check with her insurance company for suggestions, since anything done out of state may incur an increased cost.

I hope this gives you some good starting ideas. Wishing you best of luck in getting this arranged.
