Hello, we are visiting in October this year and my kids are crazy about going fishing at the resort (Port Orleans Riverside). What is the charge for this activity and is it a busy situation we need to plan a lot of extra time for? Thanks

    Welcome Jennifer,

I don't know a lot about fishing but I do know that fish are on their own time.  Since you really don't know how the fish are biting that day, it's difficult to put a time limit on it.  I've known people that will sit in a boat for an entire day to catch that elusive "big one". My recommendation is to allow an hour or so in the early morning for the kids to fish.  The Fishin' Hole is open from 7:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.  I found a great website that is dedicated to all things about Disney's Port Orleans resort; www.portorleans.org.  Check under the "Recreation" tab and you'll find a wealth of information there about fishing and any other activities at this resort.  Prices are always subject to change.  Current prices are $12.50 for 30 minutes for a family of four and include cane poles, bait and dock time.  Al fishing is "catch and release", so be sure to take pictures before your throw that HUGE fish back into the water.

Wishing you a magical vacation and a wealth of fish!
