I am a wife, mother and grandmother, and have been in love with Disney since childhood. I currently work in Information Technology in the Healthcare sector, but discovered later in life that my heart is not in the IT world; instead, writing is my passion. I went back to school to get my Communications degree and hope to move into something that fuels my heart. I consider myself a “foodie” and I love to cook. In my mind, the Epcot Food and Wine Festival should be a national holiday. runDisney has also become a part of my life, having started with a 5K race, and now I’m running half marathons. I firmly believe in the adage, “You’re not getting older; you’re getting better.”
About My Family
I met my husband in high school and we have been married for 40 years. He makes me laugh every day, and loves Disney as much as I do, so you can see why we have been together for so long. My husband is retired from the airline industry, a career that allowed us to travel extensively. Every year, however, we found ourselves back at the Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort. I like to say that I gave my first born to Disney because my oldest daughter was a Cast Member in the Disney College Program, which had been her dream ever since she was a little girl. My youngest daughter is the mother of my sweet 5-year-old grandson who is already being brought up Disney. He has three trips under his belt plus a Disney Cruise. Watching another generation experience the magic of Walt Disney World brings me indescribable joy.
About My Disney Experience
While growing up, I would dream about going to Disneyland when watching the “Wonderful World of Disney” on television. My wish came true in 1977 and I felt the magic the moment I walked into the park and could not wait to go back again. My family and I have been fortunate enough to visit Disneyland several times, though we didn’t go to the Walt Disney World Resort until 1982, when I fell in love all over again. As parks were added, Walt Disney World Resort became our favorite vacation destination. When our daughters arrived I knew that I wanted them to experience the magic of Disney and took them before they were even a year old and every year after that. I am delighted that they both have grown to love Disney; however, a mother’s work is never done. I’m now working on the next generation and hoping to leave a legacy of love for the magic of Walt Disney World.
