We are visiting in October with our two year old son and are on a tight budget. How much can we expect to spend on food, roughly, per day? My son is a picky eater, and the counter service locations are fine with us (we don't need anything fancy). Thanks

    Hi Sara,

For your family, I would estimate between $20 and $25 a meal at counter service.  This is an adult combo meal with drink which run between $7-$10 with tax. A child's meal is under $5.00. This is based on all three of you eating a meal.  Often my husband and I split a meal or I order a children's portion.

Some easy ways to save money on food is to pack snacks from home. I bring granola bars, cereal, peanut butter and jelly and crackers with me in my suitcase.  This prevents us from buying every snack, and we can eat breakfast in the room. You can pick up milk at your resort or stop at a grocery store on the way to the parks if you are driving or renting a car.

I would suggest at least one table service meal so you could see characters.  Crystal Palace is great for a two year old and the buffet has enough variety to satisfy even the pickiest eaters!  Breakfast will be the least expensive meal at this restaurant.

    Have a great day!
