Hi. We are visiting in October with a Disney Dining Plan. Can you use a table service credit for a quick service meal on the dining plan?

Hiya Heidi! Oh, boy you're heading to Walt Disney World this Fall! We're happy to see you here at planDisney, and thank you for sending in your planning question about the Disney Dining Plan. Let's talk about options for using your dining entitlements. Woo hoo!

It's terrific that you'll be using the Disney Dining Plan during your stay, I think you're going to love it! You have lots of flexibility in when you'd like to use your meal and snack entitlements. For instance, if you have an on-the-go busy park day and wish to use two quick service meals that day, you can! The next day you may want to have two, relaxing sit down table service meals. One day you may skip your snack.... and then have two snacks the following day. Hooray for double snack day!! Best. Day. Ever.

At this time, you are not allowed to exchange a table service credit for a quick service meal credit. I always recommend guests plan ahead and make a few advance dining reservations at favorite restaurants, which you will be able to do 60 days prior to your check-in date. If you'd rather keep your plans somewhat flexible, don't feel you have to plan out every table service meal in advance. You should be able to find table service locations with same-day openings, and the My Disney Experience app can help! From the home screen, select the "+" sign in the middle of the bottom menu bar, then select "Check Dining Availability". Just a little sprinkle of pixie dust... and the app will assist you in finding something nearby that suits your cravings and party size. We call that magical dining!

Did you know you can also track your dining credits balance inside the My Disney Experience app? Look for your Disney Resort reservation on the home page, click "My Resort" and scroll down to the bottom where a row of handy icons will include one with "Check Dining Plan". This can be a good way to keep track of your remaining meals throughout your trip.

I hope this information is helpful, Heidi. Please feel free to visit me again at planDisney if I can answer any other questions, or offer dining recommendations.

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
