We are visiting MK on Jan 24 with an elderly grandmother who is quite mobile, but I'd love to find a place for her to sit to watch the 3pm parade. Is there some sort of reserved seating that can be purchased to ensure a seat? Or other recommendations?

Ciao, Vicky! Welcome to planDisney where the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie. I'm so excited you'll experience the Walt Disney World Resort magic with your grandmother. Walt Disney created his theme parks for guests of all ages, so let's talk about options for parade viewing during your visit.

Mama mia! You might be wondering why I'm sprinkling this answer with Italian references, so here's my first tip. Make an advanced dining reservation for Tony's Town Square Restaurant around the same time as the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade.

I looked at the calendar and saw that the parade begins in Frontierland at 3:00 PM most days that week and should arrive in Town Square about 15-20 minutes later. You're within the 60-day booking window, so I'm wishing on a star you can reserve a table around that time!

Please check in at Tony's a few minutes early and let the host know you'd like a table on the porch so your grandmother can see the parade while you dine. There's no guarantee, and you might have to wait a few minutes extra, but I've found the staff will try their best to accommodate you. My husband and I recently shared the Spaghetti and Impossible Meatballs, and we may or may not have recreated the romantic scene from Lady and the Tramp!

Currently, the parade does not offer reserved seating or dining packages, so your other seating options would be on the curb or a stone wall. Frontierland does have a few low walls and benches, but crowds often gather in front of them, hindering views.

Even though it sounds like your grandmother is fit as a fiddle, you might also consider renting a wheelchair for the day at the park entrance. These are available on a first-come basis and could even be parked until parade time. Just stake your spot early so she has a front-row seat!

Vicky, my grandfather was from Italy, so it's been fantastico helping you today. He never made it to Magic Kingdom Park, but I know he would have loved it. I hope you make magical memories to treasure with your family, and please stop by planDisney anytime. Arrivederci!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
