Hey there, hi there, ho there, Jessica.
Oh my goodness, happy early birthday to your little Mouseketeer! I’m excited to hEAR you’ll be celebrating this momentous occasion at The Most Magical Place on Earth. I know watching her experience the magic for the first time will be a core memory your momma heart holds onto forever.
You’ll be happy to know that, while limited, Character Dining experiences are indeed available. You can meet Mickey, Minnie, and pals at
Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and
Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera at Disney’s Riviera Resort. You can start her special day off with a filling breakfast at one of these restaurants or book a lunch reservation for a nice midday break. You can even preorder a
Mickey Mouse celebration cake to be delivered to your table during your meal. Jessica, these Character Dining experiences are quite popular, so I would not wait to make your dining reservations since you are under the 60 day mark for your arrival. You can check for available reservations through your
My Disney Experience Mobile App. Make sure you click on every individual option under the “Search By Time” feature. People’s plans change frequently, so keep checking back daily if reservations don’t show up initially.
Of course, no celebration is complete without a celebration button. Stop by the Front Desk at your Disney Resort hotel or one of the
Guest Relations locations to pick up a “First Visit” and “I’m Celebrating” button. Not only will they let the world know it’s your princess’ big day, but they also make for the perfect props in photos. Speaking of photos, you should try to book a
Capture Your Moment photo session at Magic Kingdom Park, which includes a personalized photo session with your very own Disney PhotoPass photographer for a solid 20 minutes. The green hub area with Cinderella Castle in the background is the perfect backdrop for those first birthday pictures! If you want to sprinkle even more pixie dust on the cuteness factor, stop by and purchase a Mickey balloon before your session begins and include it in some of the pictures.
At some point during the day, it’s essential your daughter gets her birthday picture taken with Mickey Mouse! You can find him at
Town Square Theater in
Magic Kingdom Park and
inside the building that hosts the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival in
EPCOT (subject to change). In fact, I would get as many pictures of your daughter with
characters as possible. You can have the characters sign a page in an autograph book and later place the printed picture of her with that character on the adjacent page. It would make for a fun memento of this special trip.
Enjoy every moment of the magic with your little one, Jessica, and let us know if you have further questions.
See ya real soon,
Alyssa
