We are only visiting Hollywood Studios. Do I need a magic band or card? I have a card from my trip 7 years ago can I use that?

Hello there, Kristin! Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out and asking such an excellent Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is known for its adventurous nature so be prepared for a day of thrills and excitement during your upcoming trip! During your visit, you can look forward to playing at the imaginative Toy Story Land, enjoying some magical entertainment, and eating some delectable dishes from popular dining locations! One of the most popular areas, though, has got to be Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! This one-of-a-kind land transports you to the distant planet of Batuu where you can explore the Black Spire Outpost. It truly feels as though you have been transported to a galaxy far, far away for your very own galactic adventure!

When it comes to gaining entry into the theme parks, you actually have a few different options! You are certainly welcome to purchase a MagicBand in whichever design you are interested in or you can request an admission card at Will Call whenever you arrive at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Another brand-new option you can take advantage of is the Disney MagicMobile service! This option gives you access to all of the services offered with a MagicBand right from your smart device. All you will need to do is create a customized Disney MagicMobile pass through the My Disney Experience app and add it to the digital wallet on your smart device. From there, all you will need to do is hold your device to an access point when using the available features. It’s a simple option that allows you to pack even lighter during your visits while using all of the wonderful features of a MagicBand!

I do also want to point out that Guests visiting any of the four theme parks will need to make a theme park reservation prior to their visit! This can be done through the Disney Park Pass system as soon as you have purchased your theme park tickets and added them to your My Disney Experience account. If you would like to check availability before you purchase tickets, you may do so by checking the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar online.

I hope you have a magical stay at Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you!
