Visiting with a group of 14. Had to make dining reservation in small groups of 5 and 4 in 3 different time slots to get everyone in. I know how to change guests for reservations, but how can I remove myself and add other members of my party on 2 of them?

Hi Derek! Thank you so much for bringing your question to planDisney!

There's a lot to love about the Walt Disney World Resort, but I think my favorite thing is the variety of food available at the resort. I love to plan out my meals, snacks, and drinks! It's exciting to put together the plans and even better when it comes time to eat! My current favorite restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort is Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' at Disney Springs. It has a lively atmosphere and a delicious menu highlighting the flavors of Florida!

When making an advanced dining reservation through the My Disney Experience mobile app, the default primary contact is the owner of the account. When making the dining reservation through your My Disney Experience account on a computer, you can establish who will be managing the reservation. As long as the person who you'd like to manage the reservation is connected to you through the My Family & Friends List, you will be able to select that person as the primary contact.

The person who is selected as the primary contact for the dining reservation cannot be changed once it has been booked. However, I was able to confirm with a Cast Member that as long as the person checking in for that reservation uses the primary contact's name and has the correct number of people in the party, that person should not have any issues checking in to the restaurant.

As a large party with separate reservations for the same restaurant, you will want to ask the Cast Members at the host stand if they are able to combine your party. Please keep in mind that this is simply a request and cannot be guaranteed. It all depends on the restaurant, time of day, capacity, and a variety of other factors.

If you should travel again with a large group in the future, I would recommend having a few people use their My Disney Experience accounts to make separate reservations around the same time so that you can have a different primary contact for each reservation. However, if you are like me and are the eternal planner for your group's Disney vacations, simply ensure you are making the reservations on a computer and you are selecting different primary contacts to manage each reservation.

I hope that you and your travel party have a wonderful time at the Walt Disney World Resort and enjoy lots of delicious food and quality time! Please reach out to planDisney again in the future if you have any other questions. We are here to help!

    Eat all the good stuff,
    Matt
