I am visiting for the first time with 4 and 6 year old boys in August 2008. What attractions and "must sees" would you suggest? Which of the 4 parks would be least suited for this age?

    Hi John,

Hooray for Disney in August with two pirates!  I am sure you will be spending a lot of time in the Magic Kingdom but your pirates will find treasures to loot at the other parks as well.

I would not start the journey in Magic Kingdom.  I would head to EPCOT and explore the Living Seas, Test Track and Journey into the Imagination.  The new Spaceship Earth will be a fun stop as well.  Then I would head to the World Showcase to plunder the treasure in Mexico, Norway, China and the other eight countries.  However, simply rest in America and enjoy the show.

Hollywood Studios will have your pirates dancing at Playhouse Disney, touring the backlot, enjoying the thrills of Lights, Motor, Action! and watching Indiana Jones rescue Marion.  Along the way, they can see their favorite characters like Handy Mandy and Buzz and Woody!  Don't forget Muppets 3-D.

Then head to Magic Kingdom for Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan.  They can explore Tom Sawyer's Island and ride Goofy's Barnstormer.  If they love Buzz, then have them destroy the evil emperor Zurg and finally get your jokes ready for Mike and Sulley.

Animal Kingdom is a beautiful place to go on safari, ride the rapids and see the Lion King.  If they are looking for prehistoric treasures, head over to dig for dinosaurs in the boneyard.

Remember to go slow and try not to see everything this trip. August is hot so you may want to go back and swim in your "lagoon".  Or the pirates may have you walking the plank!
