Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by to chat with us about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. In just a few short weeks, you’ll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth. I love the fact that you’re putting the final touches on your plans now - you have perfect timing.
Guests must be 14 or older to enter and/or be left unattended in Disney theme parks. This means that you won’t be able to experience attractions without your 10- and 12-year-old unless you bring another adult with you. I know that sometimes that’s just not possible - I travel to Disney World with my 2 boys without the rest of our family occasionally. Now that my oldest is 16 we really don’t need to skip any experiences, but there was once a time when we had to.
Skipping a few attractions doesn’t mean that you won’t still enjoy your magical vacation, Fiona. If your kids are thrill-averse, consider spending more time in
Magic Kingdom where you’ll find the most family-friendly attractions and entertainment like
Dumbo the Flying Elephant and the
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade. If you plan your day around attractions and experiences that all three of you are interested in, you’ll find that you feel less like you missed out on experiences and more like you made lasting memories. Speaking of memories, consider purchasing the
Memory Maker add-on. This service allows you to download unlimited
PhotoPass photos during your vacation. This includes photos that you take with PhotoPass photographers as well as attraction photos. The real benefit of Memory Maker for you is that you’ll get to capture so many beautiful moments from your vacation without deciding who’s going to take the photo - everyone can be in it with this service! Purchase Memory Maker at least 3 days prior to the start of your vacation to save on the service.
