We are visiting at the end of April with our 3 kids (6, almost 2, and 6 months). Our flight arrives around 11, so we will be arriving to our resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge, around noon. What can we do before being able to check in?

    Hi there Katherine,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite places to stay when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort.  When you arrive at the resort, you are more than welcome to check in at the front desk. Although your room is not guaranteed to be ready at noon, I have previously been able to get into our room before the official check-in time.

If your room is not ready, I recommend enjoying one of the pools at the resort. My children have always loved to participate in the pool side activities. With a little one, it may be nice to find a few chairs in a shady area by the pool in order to lay down for a bit. Follow the link I have provided to view a list of recreational activities that are available at the resort. You will also get a list of Resort Activities in your welcome packet at check-in.

Consider booking an Advanced Dining Reservation for lunch at Sanaa, which is located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. This unique dining location features spectacular views of the exotic animals on the Savannah. I highly recommend the bread service for a fun dining experience.

I hope these suggestions are helpful. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out again. Best wishes for a magical trip, Katherine!

    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
