We will be visiting at the end of April 2008. We hope to be able to see the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, but I'm unsure if my 5 year old son can sit through the whole show. Do you think he would enjoy it and are we at our own table or seated with others?

I have seen the Hoop De Doo Revue about half a dozen times, including twice in the last two weeks! This is a show that is really fun for the whole family. The first seating (which is the one I would suggest for your family) starts at 5:00. Your party is seated at its own table. The meal is served family style. When you walk in, there will be a big bucket of salad and a plate of cornbread already on the table waiting for you. You can start eating right away, The actual show starts at about 5:20. The performers enter, introduce themselves and do a few songs. Then there is a break while the main meal is brought out (fried chicken, ribs, beans, potatoes). And then more of the show and dessert (strawberry shortcake). There are several interactive parts, where the audience helps the performers by clapping and making noise. The entire show and meal are over at about 6:45.

So, while it may seem that the show is nearly two hours long, the actual performance part is probably just under an hour. And the actual need to sit still part is much less than that. At the two shows I saw most recently, there were kids of all ages in the audience. The toddlers seemed only moderately interested, but the kids I that were about age 5 and up seemed to be having a great time. In fact, we first brought our twins when they were 4 and a half and they loved it so much that we've been back every year.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
