Visiting DW the first week in December with my husband, 4 year old & 7 year old and staying at the Polynesian. Which Longhouses would be best and are any of the pools heated? This will be our first time staying at a WDW Resort. Thanks!

    Aloha, Jennifer!

Disney's Polynesian Resort is an absolute favorite of my family as well as of countless other visitors to Walt Disney World. The "Poly" (as it is affectionately called by its legion of fans) really has it all, from an ideal location across the Seven Seas Lagoon from Magic Kingdom to spacious themed rooms and a tropical, relaxed ambiance. I have to warn you, though -- the Poly may spoil you for all other resorts and you may not want to ever stay anywhere else!

I'm not sure which room category you've booked, but my top picks for longhouses are:

Niue (great location right next to the Great Ceremonial House with the Volcano feature pool on one side of the building and the quiet pool on the other, recent rehab done in March 2013)

Rapa Nui (quiet location very close to the Transportation and Ticket Center for access to direct monorail to Epcot, close to bus stop and Neverland Club)

Rarotonga (right next to the Great Ceremonial House and quiet pool, very close to the bus stop and near Neverland Club, rehab done March 2013)

Tokelau (close to the Neverland Club, quiet pool and bus stop, rehab done March 2013)

All Disney resort pools are heated to a very comfortable 82 degrees F. You should be able to swim in early December, but just have a towel nearby since it will feel chilly when you get out of the water!

If you and your husband would like to enjoy a romantic dinner at Citrico's, Narcoossee's or Victoria & Albert's at the adjacent Grand Floridian Resort, I highly recommend the Neverland Club at the Polynesian. Your kids will have a blast at this club -- the Cast Members are wonderful at keeping little ones entertained with fun crafts and activities.

Wishing you a magical stay at the Polynesian!
