Hi, there! I'm Kimberly, a tried-and-true Disneyphile from the beautiful Somerset Hills region of New Jersey, home of the USGA and US Equestrian Team. I'm a former college educator who now enjoys a career as a writer and editor. I'm also a proud alumna of Georgetown University (go, Hoyas!). I love international travel and have lived in France and Italy, though I have yet to visit the Disney Parks in China and Japan (but, never fear, they're on my family's bucket list!).
If you are seeking advice on visiting Walt Disney World with special needs such as mobility challenges or dietary concerns, then you've come to the right place! I enjoy helping Guests plan magical vacations by sharing my recommendations for Signature and unique dining experiences, special park tours, seasonal and holiday events, and of course Character experiences! I love researching and writing about Disney Parks & Resorts - there's always something new and exciting to discover!
About My Family
I can still remember the magic and wonder of my first family trip to Walt Disney World in 1972. Now several decades later my husband and I have the joy of experiencing that same magic through the eyes of our young princess. My husband is disabled and uses a wheelchair, so one of my passions is helping Guests learn all about accessibility at Walt Disney World, from accommodations and attractions to transportation and recreation. We are big fans of the animated series Phineas and Ferb and a must-do activity is Agent P's World Showcase Adventure. We also love playing the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom interactive game and have amassed a rather large pile of Spell Cards! Other favorite family activities include pin trading and searching for Hidden Mickeys. Topping our list of favorite resorts are Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Polynesian, Yacht Club and Port Orleans-Riverside. We also enjoy the larger-than-life theming at Art of Animation and All-Star Movies.
About My Disney Experience
I think the best thing about a Disney vacation is that there's plenty of fun to be had by guests of all ages and abilities! Our multi-generational family trips have included all age groups from toddlers to octogenarian grandparents. We always make a point of experiencing a new tour or special event on each visit. Recently we had the chance to view African wildlife up close on the Night Safari at Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas. We also love dining at Walt Disney World, from quick treats on-the-go (can anyone say Dole Whip?!) to incredible table-service gourmet meals. As a family of "foodies," we've enjoyed just about every Character and Signature Dining location, and we've sampled our way (more than a few times!) around World Showcase during the Epcot International Food & Wine and Flower & Garden Festivals.
I look forward to sharing my planning tips and advice with you to help make your vacation extra magical and memorable!
