I will be visiting Disneyland with my sister and her daughter, if we wanted to link our tickets all together, on two seperate phones and sepearate accounts, can we do that? Does this also work for lightning lane?

Hi Nicholas! Welcome to planDisney. As the designated Lightning Lane planner in my family, I completely understand wanting to make sure everyone is connected and ready to go before the big day. I’m happy to help you feel confident about managing your Disney day for your group.

The good news is that you and your party can absolutely link your tickets and manage Lightning Lane return times together, even if you are using separate MyDisney accounts on different mobile devices. This is a great feature when you’re visiting with family or friends, because it allows multiple people to help manage plans throughout the day.

To get everything set up, each person should create their own MyDisney account and download the Disneyland app. Once you’re logged in, you can link everyone’s tickets so they appear across devices. In the app, tap the menu icon (the three horizontal lines) in the bottom right corner and select “My Tickets and Passes.” On that screen, tap the plus icon in the top right corner and choose “Link Tickets and Passes.” From there, you can either type in the ticket ID number or use your phone’s camera to scan the barcode. After the tickets are linked on both devices, everyone in your group will be able to see the shared tickets, and either phone can book Lightning Lane selections for the whole party.

There are a couple of helpful details to keep in mind. First, Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections can only be made for Guests who have already scanned into either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. While you can link everyone’s tickets before arriving, you won’t be able to book your first Lightning Lane attraction until the tickets have been scanned at the entrance.

Second, communication is key if you want to keep the same return windows for the whole group. Once someone books a Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection that includes multiple Guests, everyone in that reservation will share the same booking timer. Another Lightning Lane selection can be made after either 120 minutes have passed or once that reservation has been redeemed by scanning into the attraction, whichever comes first. If members of the group start booking separately, it can shift those timers and make coordinating a little trickier.

One final Q-Tip for a smooth Disney day is to take advantage of the lighter crowds earlier in the morning. The first couple of hours after opening are often the perfect time to enjoy popular attractions with shorter standby waits. My family loves starting in Tomorrowland with a ride on Space Mountain before the lines build, then letting Lightning Lane Multi Pass help carry us through the afternoon and evening.

Nicholas, I hope this helps you feel ready to coordinate your plans with ease. If any other questions come up while you’re getting ready for your visit, we’d be delighted to help again here at planDisney.

Have an incredible day filled with magical moments!
