Hi, We are visiting Disneyland in November from Australia. Are there any options for non-US residents to access the Stitch meet and greet in DCA, as we are ineligible to apply for either a Chase debit or credit card? Cheers

Welcome to planDisney, James! I completely understand how meaningful it can be to meet a favorite Disney character during your visit, and I know it can feel a little disappointing when certain opportunities are limited. Let’s walk through what you can expect when it comes to greeting Stitch at the Disneyland Resort.

At this time, the Stitch character experience offered inside Disney California Adventure Park is part of the Disney Visa Cardmember Photo Opportunity. Access does require presenting a physical Chase Disney Visa Debit or Credit Card at the entrance to the location. Because of that, it isn’t possible for Guests without one of those cards to take part in this particular meet-and-greet.

I realize that may not be the news you were hoping for. However, the good news is that Stitch does occasionally make appearances in other parts of the resort. While those encounters are not guaranteed, the Disneyland app is a wonderful tool to help you stay in the loop. By selecting the “Characters” tab in the app, you can see when and where characters are scheduled to appear throughout the day. Stitch has been known to pop up from time to time, especially during seasonal celebrations or in surprise locations, so it’s always worth checking frequently during your visit.

Even beyond Stitch, there are so many magical character encounters waiting for you. Main Street in Disneyland is a classic starting point, where you might spot Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy in their holiday best. Since you’ll be visiting in November, you’ll also find Santa greeting guests in both parks, which is a delightful way to add even more cheer to your day. And don’t miss an evening stroll down Main Street, where the twinkling lights, snowfall, and view of the “Believe… in Holiday Magic” fireworks create a holiday memory you’ll treasure.

I hope this gives you some clarity and reassurance as you prepare for your trip, James. If more questions pop up as you plan, please come back and visit us again at planDisney.

Wishing you a holiday visit filled with joy and unforgettable moments!
