Hey Janet!
Welcome to planDisney. With just one week until your visit, you must be getting so excited. Right about now, I would start humming my favorite Disney tunes and daydream about strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. with a sweet treat in hand. There is so much excitement in the air with the
70th Anniversary festivities in full swing—get ready to "Celebrate Happy"!
As a fellow planner at heart, I love to see fellow Guests thinking through their park days to ensure they are maximizing the magic. It's smart to take a look at any attractions and shows that may be undergoing refurbishment as you map out your time. Currently,
Matterhorn Bobsleds,
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue,
The Disney Gallery, and
The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln are scheduled to be closed during your visit. You can check this list directly in the Disneyland app by heading to the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner and scrolling to "Park Hours & Info". Once you select a day, scroll down, and you will see a section that lists attractions that are closed for refurbishment. It's a good idea to peek at the list the morning of your park day, as well, just in case an attraction has unexpectedly closed.
While you are planning ahead, I highly recommend also taking a peek at the
Entertainment Schedule. There is so much happening in both parks right now throughout the day and night that you'll want to earmark any must-see shows or entertainment! If you head to the Entertainment Schedule on the website, you can even select to see a "5-Day View", which will allow you to see all of the options for nearly the full length of your visit. To access this calendar, hover over the "Tickets and Parks" tab at the top of the page and on the right-hand side of the dropdown select "See All Hours and Entertainment Calendar". A few of my favorites from the 70th Anniversary offerings are
Tapestry of Happiness, which is a projection show on "it's a small world" offered multiple times each evening that takes you through a nostalgic journey of Disneyland's history! If you time it just right, you can stay in your spot to catch the
Paint the Night parade, which is a do-not-miss, in my book!
Janet, I sure hope this was helpful as you put the finishing touches on planning your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth. If you have any more questions, please reach back out to us here at
planDisney. We are always here to lend a tip or two or three!
Magic awaits!
