Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Felix!
You’re less than 30 days away from your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I know how exciting it is when your arrival date is so close that you begin thinking about all of the amazingly delicious snacks you’ll encounter on your trip. From
Dole Whips to
Mickey Pretzels, I’m hard pressed to think of a Walt Disney World Resort
snack I don’t love, but there is something extra special about the popcorn! My family and I have an embarrassingly huge collection of souvenir popcorn buckets. As
Annual Passholders, we visit
Walt Disney World Resort often, and we tend to bring home a new bucket with every visit.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a pre-published schedule of the popcorn buckets you’ll find when you visit Walt Disney World Resort next month. I would recommend following the
Disney Parks Blog or checking out other Walt Disney World Resort social media accounts or fan sites to see what’s available during the first week of September. They do change frequently, though (and some souvenir buckets sell out quickly), so there isn’t really a guarantee that you’ll find what you’ve seen online in the Parks during your visit.
There was an exclusive Annual Passholder Steamboat Willie popcorn bucket that made its debut at
Disneyland Resort in California earlier this year, but it sold out on its first day. Although it wasn’t an exclusive when it appeared at Walt Disney World Resort earlier this summer, it also sold out quickly there. I was heartbroken not to be able to purchase one of those buckets myself, and although I hope it might be reintroduced later (as happened with the red Mickey-shaped balloon bucket), we really don’t know if or when that will happen.
No matter what, though, a souvenir popcorn bucket is an excellent item to pick up on your first day at Walt Disney World Resort and continue to refill during your visit. If you’re on one of the Disney
Dining Plans, the bucket itself isn’t covered, but refills count as a snack. My family and I always make sure we refill on our way out of the Parks on our last day and snack on the deliciousness on the 7-hour drive home.
Best of luck, Felix! I hope you have a Magical vacation.
