We will be visiting Disney World this Thanksgiving 2024. We will be staying in a time share off of Disney property. I plan on purchasing 4 day passes for each of our 5 family members. I know Thanksgiving is a busy time-how early do we need to purchase them

    Hi Victoria,

Disney World is extra magical during the holidays! The month of November brings all of the Christmas decorations, parties, and special treats throughout Disney World's theme parks and resort hotels. Thanksgiving weekend is especially appealing because I also love the idea of letting someone else cook Thanksgiving dinner!

Since Disney World is so magical this time of year, it is also extra busy. Thanksgiving weekend is one of the more in-demand times of the year to visit and sometimes the theme parks will sell out or reach capacity during the holiday weekend. If you already have your hotel reservations confirmed and your dates are set, I would go ahead a secure my theme park tickets as soon as possible. If you are buying date-based tickets, this will ensure that they do not sell out! Some tickets will require a theme park reservation so make sure to check the ticket type you are purchasing and make those reservations if necessary. Disney World tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferrable so make sure your plans are solidified before you purchase your tickets.

Keep in mind that theme park entry is still subject to capacity. I would make sure to arrive earlier in the day during this busy weekend to ensure you get in before the theme parks reach the maximum number of guests they can let in.

During the holidays, Disney World also offers a special ticketed event called Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It is an extra special evening at Magic Kingdom with limited ticket sales, complimentary treats, a special parade, dance parties, and even snow falling on Main Street. I love this event during a busy holiday weekend because with limited attendance, the lines are much shorter and you can maximize how many attractions and rides you visit in a short period of time. Tickets for this event regularly sell out so I recommend getting them as soon as possible if you want to attend.

Don't forget to save at least one day of your trip to explore the International Festival of the Holidays at EPCOT. This event is completely included in your admission to EPCOT and will take you on an international adventure through the holidays around the world. There are epic storytellers, food booths galore, and the opportunity to meet Santa Claus!

    Happy Planning,
    Jenna
