Brittany, I see you'll be visiting from my home state of Louisiana! How smart of you to plan your trip in September. The crowds are much lower, and Magic Kingdom Park is dressed up in its festive autumn best!
As a child, I always wanted to stay at
Disney's Contemporary Resort because it reminded me of that fantastic futuristic city from the Jetsons, and who wouldn't want to stay in a resort where a monorail glides through the main lobby?! I finally got my chance to stay here as an adult nearly ten years ago, but my reasons for choosing it had changed. At the time, I was a mom of three kids ranging in age from 2-8, and nap times were an issue, so we needed a resort that was super convenient. You can't beat the ten-minute walk to Magic Kingdom Park- I remember walking back from
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and feeling grateful we didn't have to wait for a bus. We also appreciated that the Garden Wing rooms are much quieter than the ones located in the Main Tower and that they have quicker access to the pool. The Garden Wing rooms were refurbished along with the rest of the resort in 2016, so don't worry that the quality is lower because the rooms are less expensive- you'll get the same luxurious bedding and decor (and at 422 square feet, the guest rooms here are amongst the largest on Walt Disney World property).
Since that trip, we have been return visitors to The Contemporary. There's lots to love about this resort, from the location, the rooms, and of course the restaurants (which rate as some of the best on property, in my opinion). I don't think you can go wrong, Brittany!
Enjoy your amazing vacation, and please stop back and see us if you'd like any more advice!
