We are visiting Disney World in Orlando at the end of the year. This will be my kids' first time to visit Disney. They are 10 and 8. My daughter's birthday will be during our stay. I need good dining recommendations that are kid friendly.

Hi Kim! My kids are the same ages as yours, so I can definitely help you with restaurants that appeal to that age group!  Every restaurant at Disney World (with the exception of the adults-only Victoria & Albert's) is kid-friendly, so you should feel free to dine at any restaurant with food that appeals to your family, but here are a few that kids love:

In the Hollywood Studios park, my kids love eating at the Sci-Fi Dine-In, where you sit in cars and watch campy drive-in movies while you eat. If your daughter is a princess fan, a trip to Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom is a must. Dining in the castle is magical and you could treat your daughter to a birthday makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique before your meal with the princesses. At the Animal Kingdom, kids love the life-size animatronic animals at the Rainforest Cafe, and at Epcot, you could surprise them with a visit from Remy, the rat from Ratatouille, while you have lunch at Chefs de France. Also in Epcot, your whole family would love the antics of the hibachi chefs at Teppan Edo.

Outside of the parks, consider dinner at 'Ohana, where a staggering amount of grilled meats and foods are brought to your table and kids can participate in hula lessons and coconut races during the meal. Of course, no trip to Disney is complete without a visit to Chef Mickey's -- your kids will love the sundae bar at this character buffet! For a fine dining experience, the California Grill is a upscale restaurant with delicious food and a fantastic view of the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. (Your kids can order a wood-fired flatbread pizza there!)

Be sure to note on all your dining reservations that your daughter is celebrating her birthday during your trip, and pick up a birthday button for her at Guest Services.

Hope you have a magical trip!
