We will be visiting Disney world at the end of December - What will the weather be like? Will it be warm enough to go to the Water parks? Will we need jackets in the evenings?

Welcome to the Moms Panel, Nancy! Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! December is my favorite time of year to visit the "Most Magical Place on Earth" as all of the parks and resorts are beautifully decorated for the Holiday Season. Although the weather can be quite unpredictable in December, the average high temperature for Orlando is usually in the low 70s with the average low temperature in the low 50s. We have vacationed in December when we needed jackets and gloves and on other trips when we wore shorts throughout the trip. To be perfectly honest, you may want to gauge a visit to the Disney Water Parks based on the outside temperature during your trip. The water parks are heated year round, but you have to walk between attractions which could present to be a chilly experience if the weather is not warm that particular day. I would definitely pack your swimsuits in case the weather conditions are favorable for a trip to Disney's Blizzard Beach. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is currently closed for refurbishment through January 5, 2012 according to the official Disney Parks Calendar. When my family visited Walt Disney World last December, we were able to wear shorts or pants with short sleeved tops during the day, but found we needed light jackets for the early mornings and evenings. I would definitely recommend checking the Orlando weather forecast periodically in the days leading up to your trip so that you can pack accordingly. I hope this information helps. Please don't hesitate to write me back if you have any additional questions that I can assist you with. Best wishes for a Magical trip, Nancy!
    Happy Planning,
