Hi moms. We are visiting disney world for my daughters 5th birthday in january 2013. We are staying off site but wanted to take her to a character dining for her birthday. Can we go to a restaurant in a resort hotel even if we arent staying on disney? TY

Welcome back to the Moms Panel, Samantha!  How exciting that you will be visiting Walt Disney World for your daughter's fifth birthday in January!  I personally think Walt Disney World is the perfect vacation destination for a birthday celebration!  The answer to your question is yes! All guests are welcome to dine at the Walt Disney World Resorts whether you will be a guest staying on property or off-property. My family has stayed off property in the past and enjoyed a delicious meal at one of the table-service restaurants located in a Walt Disney World Resort. You will also be allowed to park in the resort parking lot for your Character Dining Experience. My family has created so many magical memories when dining at Character Dining Experiences. Two of my favorite Character Dining Experiences include Chef Mickey's located in Disney's Contemporary Resort which features the "Fab 5" and 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast located in Disney's Polynesian Resort and features Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. Please know that Characters are subject to change. Guests may begin booking Character Dining Experiences 180 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-DINE or by going online here. Please don't hesitate to write me back if you have any additional questions that I can assist you with. Sending pixie dusted wishes that your daughter has a Magical birthday trip, Samantha!
    Happy Celebrating,
