Daniel,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
To get to the
Tusker House Restaurant (one of my family's favorites!), you do have to enter
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, which means you would using the first of your 3 days on your ticket package.
While I love Tusker House, I would not suggest that you use one of your three days just for that one dinner. However, I have a great recommendation for you that you might find useful. Tusker House was inspired by
Boma - Flavors of Africa, a restaurant that had been opened in the
Animal Kingdom Lodge. It does not have a character experience, but you will be immersed in a rich atmosphere that transports you to the savanna lodges of Africa!
The food is really fantastic there. I love that they have both African and Indian inspired entrees, but also some more traditional American options for those who are bit less adventurous. The Durban Chicken gets high marks! As a plus, you get to explore the lobby of one of the most unique and well themed resorts at Walt Disney World. There is even an animal viewing area just off the lobby. It is worth the time to visit, even if the sun has set.
