visiting disney on 12/03 -12/12, we are not sure if mvmcp is worth the extra $, are we just paying $50 for some hot cocoa and cookies? besides the parade is there anything that we would miss if we went on a diff day? p.s. we have a 9 month old any advise?

Hi, Jamie!  Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event held at the Magic Kingdom, and for my family, the big advantage is that the park seems less crowded than during the day, and we can knock out more attractions through the course of the evening than we usually can during the day.  The ticket for the party also gets you into the Magic Kingdom at 4 o'clock, so you have pretty much a full day at the park.  We don't buy a park ticket for that day, instead opting to use the pool or visit Downtown Disney that day.

With a nine month old, you really would be going for just the grown ups.  I have taken babies this young to the party before, and they seem to truly marvel at the Christmas parade.  I also have had Santa pictures taken of my girls during the party.  For the most part, however, it is up to you to decide if the baby could stay out as late as you would be the night of the party.  Keep in mind also that you may need to bundle up.  I have been to the party when it was 40 degrees outside and rainy, so you'll want to make sure you can comfortably dress your little one for the whole evening.

I would go, but you have to do what works for your family.  We always had flexible bedtimes for our girls when they were that young, so there was not a great interruption in schedule.  Consider your plans for the next morning as well.  You may have to alter them if the baby hasn't had enough sleep.

    Enjoy your vacation!
