    We're visiting Disney in May and are trying to plan all of our dinners. We have two daughters, ages 5 & 8. We want to book either the Hoop Dee Doo Review or Mickey's Backyard BBQ and are unsure which would be better for us! Any input would be great! Th

    Julia,

    Both are great. I am a bit torn, but if forced to make a recommendation between the two, I would go with Mickey's Backyard BBQ, because of the character experience and the great outdoor setting.

    However, some reasons why you may want to lean towards the Hoop Dee Doo Review over Mickey's Backyard BBQ include;

    • Mickey's BBQ is only open on Thursdays and Sundays
    • If it rains, you are out of luck (May is not in the heart of the rainy season, but it is Orlando, so rain is a pretty regular guest)

    So it may sound like I am wavering. My basic recommendation is that as long as your girls like the outdoors, and the Thursday/Sunday schedule is OK with you, then go with the BBQ. But have a backup dinner plan thought out, like a fun counter service location (Trail's End is likely to get crowded if there is a last-minute rain-out, so don't count on that). Otherwise Hoop Dee Doo is a great time, and would be just as fun, just a different kind of fun!

    Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
