Welcome, Sue!
Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is always a favorite on my kids' bucket lists for our Walt Disney World visits. It's pretty convenient when we're staying at Disney's Beach Club and Yacht Club, but even when we stay at another Disney Resort, we make sure to swing by Beaches and Cream for The Kitchen Sink!
I'm sorry that you've been unable to get reservations so far, but don't give up hope! Guests change their plans all the time, so keep checking back, especially in the week or two leading up to your trip, as spots become available all the time! In the worst case scenario where you are unable to snag a reservation at Beaches and Cream, you're not completely out of luck on missing
the Kitchen Sink! There is a "to go" window at Beaches and Cream where guests can walk in and order a Mini Mickey Sink to go! Sure, it's not the full huge Kitchen Sink but it is still more than my kids ever get at home and comes in a super cute mini Mickey pants-themed soft rubber sink that you get to take home with you! Souvenir and sundae all in one!
I do hope you get reservations though, because it's not just eating the Kitchen Sink sundae that is the best part, but the whole experience of it. The lights dim in the cafe and a siren goes off while an announcement is made that another guest is about to experience the Kitchen Sink! Cheers erupt and the whole place watches as the family who has ordered receives their sundae to top all sundaes! It's so much fun, Sue!
I do want to mention that Beaches and Cream will be temporarily closed for renovations in August through the winter of this year, but it looks like you're traveling in July, so be sure to swing by while it's still open! Have fun!
Marcy
