We are visiting Disney in February. I understand you can bring a water bottle and fill it at the water stations. Is it a drinking fountain or a dispenser similar to a soda machine. My husband has a suppressed immune system and we are concerned about them

Hello Pat! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. While there are soda machines that dispense ice and water at each Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you’ll find plenty of traditional water fountains in the theme parks and water parks (typically in close proximity to restrooms). While this is an option to refill your water bottles, you can also ask for a complimentary cup of ice water at any Quick-Service Restaurant, too.

Even in February, staying hydrated in the Florida sun is definitely an essential part of a successful Walt Disney World Resort vacation! My husband, daughter and I each carry refillable bottles in our backpacks and fill them throughout the course of the day. (Our favorite trick is to bring a small bottle of liquid drink mix to add a little calorie-free flavor, too.) I make sure to fill each of our bottles with ice before we leave our hotel for our adventures each morning and top each bottle off with fresh water throughout the day.  We also plan for a sit-down meal during the hottest part of each afternoon and ask for full cups of ice with our meals to replenish our supply midday.

If you have additional concerns about your husband’s suppressed immune system, though, you can also purchase bottled water at Quick-Service Restaurants and kiosks throughout Walt Disney World Resort, too. When bringing your own, though, please remember that glass containers are prohibited.

    Enjoy your stay!
