We are visiting Disney from Dec 28 to Jan 4. We are really looking for a unique way to celebrate New Year's Eve. Are there Disney's parties or special events going on Dec 31 for 2013 countdown?

    Hi Patsy!

You are visiting during a wonderful time of year! The holiday decorations will be up and there will be plenty of festivities for you to enjoy.

New Year's Eve is a busy day at the parks, so I highly recommend that you arrive to the park you desire early and don't try to park hop, as the parks have been known to reach capacity.

At the parks you can enjoy ringing in the new year while watching a special Holiday Wishes fireworks show at Magic Kingdom or a special viewing of Illuminations at Epcot. Disney's Hollywood Studios has a "Lights, Camera, Happy New Year" fireworks show which is really neat.

If you are looking for something a little more untraditional than celebrating at the parks, consider visiting Cirque du Soleil in Downtown Disney for a special performance. There is also a special-ticket New Year's Eve party at Atlantic Dance Hall at the BoardWalk Resort. you can enjoy a Video DJ, champagne toast and party favors. DisneyQuest also has a fun New Years Eve part with games, a DJ and food. All of those events require that tickets are purchased in advance, so make sure to solidify your plans ahead of your vacation.

I hope you have a magical New Years Eve!

    Magically,
    Stacy
