    Visiting in 6 days.....weather predictions call for rain....traveling with 2 kids age 7 & 10....Curious about your experiences with either ponchos or umbrellas? Can you ride the rides wearing ponchos? Thank you for sharing your experiences.

    Hi, Mike! In my opinion, ponchos are the way to go. Maneuvering an umbrella in a crowd is not fun for me. 
    I always pack enough ponchos for my entire travel party to wear in case of heavy rain. I buy them at our local discount store before we head to Florida to save money. I find that cheap, lightweight ponchos are terrific because you don't get as hot wearing them as you do the heavy vinyl ones. You can certainly wear your ponchos on the rides, but we usually take ours off while we are in line.  Of course, if you get to Walt Disney World and find yourself in need of a poncho or an umbrella, they are readily available and make cute souvenirs.  Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
