We are visiting the campgrounds at Disney in 10 days!! Considering bringing our golf cart. Is it worth it? Is there parking for the carts at the marina, pool, etc? One more question..when will I find out my campsite? ahead of time or at check in?

Hi Amanda and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You will be spending time with your favorite Disney pals before you know it!

Disney’s Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort is my family’s favorite place to stay and we always bring our own golf cart! And like most everything at the Walt Disney World Resort, it’s convenient. There is a specific parking lot for your cart trailer. Cast Members will give you a slip, just like the one you will get for your vehicle, to attach to your trailer and that’s it. There’s no need to fuss with it until you check out.

We rarely use our car once we’ve arrived because you can find parking for the golf carts at the marina, pools,  any of the trading posts and near the restaurants on site. Did you know that Disney’s Fort Wilderness property is the only place at the Walt Disney World Resort where you can rent a golf cart? Should you decide not to bring your own of course.

Usually you will find out your specific campsite assignment when you check in. If you have any requests, I suggest calling the resort directly at (407) 824-2900 to speak with a Cast Member and they will try their best to accommodate your request.

Don't forget about the recreation activities at your resort! My daughter really enjoys Chip ‘N’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long. You can roast marshmallows around a campfire and stay to watch a Disney movie under the stars! Make sure to pick up a recreation calendar when you check in, so you will know what will be playing on the nights of your stay.

Amanda, I hope you and your family have an awesome vacation!
