visiting from Australia on a 5 day 1 park per day ticket with LL. Can I buy a magic band and link to my ticket

Welcome back to planDisney, Nerine! With Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration underway, you couldn’t have picked a better time to visit. I’m so glad you stopped by. I'd be happy to help you prep for what’s sure to be an epic vacation.

The answer to your question is yes! You can purchase your MagicBand+ either ahead of your trip or once you arrive at the Disneyland Resort. Ordering your MagicBand+ in advance is a fantastic way to build excitement before your adventure begins. Just head to the ShopDisney website to browse the many available styles. With a wide variety of character themes and colors, there’s sure to be one that suits your personal Disney vibe.

If you’d rather wait until you’re on-site, there are plenty of places at the Disneyland Resort where you can purchase a MagicBand+. Shops throughout Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, the Downtown Disney District, and all three Disneyland Resort Hotels carry a selection. However, one benefit of buying your MagicBand+ early is being able to link it to your Disneyland app and theme park ticket before your arrival, so you’re ready to scan into the parks and Lightning Lanes the moment your trip begins.

Linking your MagicBand+ is easy! Open the Disneyland app, tap the ☰ menu icon in the bottom right corner, scroll down to the “Account” section, and select MagicBand+. Tap the blue plus sign in the upper corner, then follow the prompts to assign your band to a ticket. Just like that, you’re all set!

MagicBand+ also includes some fun interactive features. Your band may light up or vibrate during nighttime spectaculars like World of Color Happiness! or classic attractions such as Haunted Mansion. Over in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you can even use it to play Batuu Bounty Hunters, a scavenger hunt experience where you track down wanted figures throughout Black Spire Outpost. And during Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration, MagicBand+ can interact with special activation points, each themed to one of the park’s original five lands. Some even reward you with a collectible souvenir ticket, so be sure to find them all!

While not essential, MagicBand+ adds a delightful layer of convenience and immersive fun to your Disney day. If you have any more questions about using MagicBand+ or planning your visit, feel free to stop by and see us again at planDisney.

    Wishing you an unforgettable visit,
    David
