We are visiting Aulani the summer of 2020. My mother is an amputee and cannot walk long distances. Are there wheelchairs available or a place to rent wheelchairs or scooters?

    Aloha, Marsha!

Welcome to our 'Ohana! I am a native Californian, and Hawaii was my family's annual vacation destination growing up. Our holidays were before the days of Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and now I'm just waiting until my little ones are big enough for the plane ride to continue our Disney traditions with my squad in paradise! The islands have near-perfect weather throughout the year, and you are going to love your lazy summer days on the beach.

Unfortunately, the Resort does not rent wheelchairs or electronic scooters. I chatted with a Cast Member at the Resort, and they recommended Hawaiian Island Medical at (808) 597-8087. I looked up their website and they appear to have quite a few options available to rent. The Resort also suggested that you make sure to reserve an accessible room to make moving about the room more comfortable for your mom. If you would like to speak to the Resort directly, feel free to call (866) 443-4763 between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM PST.

When you visit, make sure to attend the KA WA'A Lū'au. It's an unforgettable journey into Hawaiian culture combined with breathtaking performances and delicious food. I think it's a perfect way to celebrate your multigenerational family vacation. As Travel + Leisure magazine stated, at Aulani, "[you will find] the magical details are plentiful." May you and your family find your legend there.
