When we visited many years ago, we were able to pay for our food before we came, can we still do that and where do I find that option?

    Hey Howdy Hey Regina,

It is great to see you back at planDisney. One of the many great things about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is all of the amazing restaurants there are to pick from for your dining pleasure.

As a mom of four young men, I know how quickly a dining bill can add up. It sounds like you may have used a Disney Dining Plan during your last visit. Using one of these plans, Guests had the opportunity to select a dining option that best fit their dining style and then pre-pay for the selected plan in advance. The cost for the dining plan was determined by the option that was selected (for example Quick-Service or Deluxe Dining), the number of nights for the stay and the ages of the Guests on the plan. The price was added to the vacation package and then paid for in advance. Personally, I always loved being able to budget for the cost of (most) of our food and beverage needs and knowing these costs were paid for before we even began our vacation.

Unfortunately, the dining plans are temporarily unavailable. The good news is the Cast Members have advised the plans are not permanently gone, just merely paused. They hope they will return in the near future but an exact return date has not been provided. I would suggest keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as they will be sure to provide all the information as soon as a return date is announced. In the meantime, I budget for this expense by viewing the menus of our preferred dining locations and averaging out the cost of a meal per person. Once I have an estimated cost, I set that amount aside to use for our meals.

Don't forget to mark your calendar for the day you can begin making your advanced dining reservations. Many of the restaurants have their available spots booked well in advance and you would hate to miss grabbing a time at your favorite spot. Bon appétit!
