California Grill

    We visited WDW last April. We were up at 430AM 60 days in advance of our trip to make dining reservations. The only times available at the California Grill were around 5P or 9P. Nothing between 7-8 PM. It's the same thing now. What's going on?

    Welcome to planDisney, Patricia, and thanks for dropping by with your question. With more mild temperatures and the thrill of the holidays on the horizon, November is a beautiful time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. 

    Some of my fellow planDisney panelists and I visited last November and I loved being in the parks during the fall months. Now, Patricia, even better than tepid weather at Walt Disney World is the perfect meal in the shadow of Cinderella Castle, so let's chat about California Grill. This restaurant holds a special place in my heart as it's my husband's favorite place to enjoy a special meal while we're on vacation. I also understand the frustration of not finding your preferred dining time. With views of Happily Ever After, California Grill is a very popular spot for many guests.

    Patricia, over the years in planning trips to the Most Magical Place on Earth I have often not been able to secure my preferred restaurant or dining time, even when booking first thing in the morning, 60 days in advance. When this happens, I try to set a daily alarm and continue checking availability in the weeks and days leading up to our trip. While there is no guarantee, plans do change all the time, and I have had good luck in securing previously unavailable reservations. By setting aside a few minutes a day, when you can, I hope you're able to find a table that best fits your evening schedule. I'll be wishing on a star that a Magical reservation pops up for you soon.
