Hey, there! Hi, there! Ho, there! Welcome back to planDisney where you are as welcome as can be.
I am so glad to see you back here, planning a return trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. There is nothing more relaxing at the end of a day at a
Walt Disney World Resort theme park than hopping in a pool. After all the steps, my feet love floating in the water.
There are two resorts at Port Orleans: Disney's
Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. These resorts are connected by a lovely path, making walking between the two easy, breezy. At Port Orleans - French Quarter's
Doubloon Lagoon, you can slide down a sea serpent's back and make a splash. Port Orleans - Riverside has
'Ol Man Island with a 95-foot-long rustic-styled slide. This resort also has 5 leisure pools, perfect for soaking away the day. Although schedules are subject to change, these pools tend to stay open late. Today, for example, they do not close until 11 pm.
I have stayed at these resorts several times, including when the parks closed with Hurricane Matthew in 2016. I know them well. If you stay at either resort, I hope you build time in your schedule to enjoy all they have to offer. Did you know you can go fishing at the Fishin' Hole on 'Ol Man Island? My son learned his love of fishing here with a great guide and their catch-and-release fishing. These resorts also have Movies Under the Stars, Campfire on de' Bayou,
bike rentals, and even
horse-drawn carriage rides.
I love the proximity of these resorts to each other, and shopping and dining at
Disney Springs are a short
water taxi ride away.
These resorts are perfect for starting and ending a day at
Magic Kingdom Park,
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios or
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. They also have so much on-site that you could be entertained all day without leaving the Bayou.
Please come back to
planDisney with any other questions. We are here to help bring some jazz to your vacation planning!
Let the good times roll!
