I visit Disneyworld for mostly excellent gluten allergy support. However, I am wholely dissapointed I cannot join in on the Christmas gingerbread fun. Manager Kevin at the Grand Floridan said he needs more requests for gluten free. Any more ideas?

Hi, Benjamin!  Having food issues myself sometimes, I understand your frustration with the lack of gluten free gingerbread products available during Christmas.  I know how tough it is to be surrounded by the spice filled holiday goodness and not be able to enjoy any!

I may have an alternative for you, but I want to warn you that I can't guarantee gingerbread on any given day.  If you head over to Downtown Disney, in the location where McDonald's used to be, you'll see signs for Pollo Campero and Fresh Appeal.  What I had missed on one of my previous trips is that inside the new restaurant is the fabulous Babycakes bakery!  This amazing little bakery features cupcakes and baked treats that are made without gluten, casein, sugar, dairy and eggs!  You'll almost wonder how, if they left all of that stuff out, just what's in their bakery items that makes them so good!

While their menu changes daily, on my visit this past weekend, they were offering gingerbread loaf.  My daughter and I were too distracted by the beautiful cupcakes and delectable doughnuts to partake, but if our experience is any indication of how the gingerbread is, you are in for a treat!

I hope your next visit to Walt Disney World is magical - and delicious!  And I'm totally behind a letter writing campaign to see gluten free gingerbread for the holidays next year!
