Can I use visa gift cards to purchase my food and souvenirs at the parks and Disney springs?

    Hey there, Tamara!

I am happy to tell you that all major credit cards are accepted as forms of payment at Walt Disney World Resort, including at the fabulous shops located in Disney Springs. Since you can generally use a Visa gift card just like a normal credit card, you will be able to use it for your purchases. However, I do want to offer you a few pieces of advice.

You will not want to attach your Visa Gift Card to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room. This means that you will not want to use it for online check-in or attach it to a MagicBand. This is because the credit card associated with your resort room can have a hold placed on it for incidentals, preventing you from using the full value of your card.

You will also want to keep track of how much is left on your gift card. When you have spent the majority of your account, if you try to make a purchase that is even one penny over your gift card amount, the card may be declined. So just be sure to keep track of your receipts or check your balance every so often.

My very last tip is to make sure you register your Visa gift card before you leave home. This will help make sure your card is ready to go so you do not run into any issues.

    Happy shopping!
