Hey there, Kelly! Welcome to planDisney. We're happy you're here!
Kelly, I completely understand wanting to have a physical gift card in hand when visiting
Walt Disney World Resort. I always bring several Disney Gift Cards with me on my magical vacations in order to purchase meals, snacks, and souvenirs to bring back home! Unfortunately, it won't be possible to use a gift card in order to buy another gift card. I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but have no fear – I have another option for you!
When I have a
Disney Gift Card eGift (a virtual gift card) but would prefer to have a physical gift card, I like to buy a physical
Disney Gift Card either through shopDisney or from a local box store. Then, I head to the
Disney Gift Card website and transfer the balance of my virtual gift card to my physical gift card. At the time of this writing, Disney Gift Cards can each hold up to $1,000. If you can pick up a physical Disney Gift Card, even at its lowest denomination, you can transfer the balance of your virtual gift card to the physical one. Ta-da!
My best tip would be to keep a note on your phone with your Disney Gift Card number and details on it. Then, if you make purchases through your
My Disney Experience app, you can copy and paste the gift card number to complete the purchase (instead of freshly typing it in each time). This will be extra handy when placing a
mobile order for food or taking advantage of
Merchandise Mobile Checkout at select locations.
I hope I was able to point you in the right direction today, Kelly! If you have any other questions, please visit us again. After all, you've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon!
