Hello Vickie, and Welcome Home!
I am really excited about the renovations of
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. I have to admit, before the renovations, the room decor was not my favorite. I just felt it was missing a little spark of something.
But now, oh my goodness, I just love these rooms! They are light, bright, and sophisticated. The pull-down bed is a nice change over the traditional sofa beds. While my kids were always too tired to complain about a sofa-bed, these pull-down beds have a traditional mattress, and will be much more comfortable for those of us more “seasoned” Disney travelers! I also feel the elegance of the rooms coordinates better with the world-class dining and shopping just next door at
Disney Springs. The summer 2021 edition of
Disney Files Magazine did mention the timeline was for the rooms to be finished by July. I did just chat with a Cast Member who tells me this has been pushed back to the mid to end of September. I’m not sure why that is, but it reminds me of the Tom Hanks movie “The Money Pit” where everything goes wrong on a home renovation and the timeline is always “two weeks!” Do know that even when the rooms are complete, there is also an ongoing renovation of the check-in area which is scheduled to be done in mid to late October.
To the best of my knowledge, the majority of rooms have been completed. The general Walt Disney World webpage for Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa also shows older photos. I don’t think they will update them until everything is complete and even then, I wouldn’t expect to see an immediate change of photos. As I recall, it took a bit for photos to be changed when Disney’s Old Key West Resort was updated. If you are looking at a visit next spring, you should anticipate staying in a renovated room!
I hope this helps to answer your question, Vickie! Please let me know if you have any additional questions, I love helping my fellow
Disney Vacation Club Members!
Wishing you
