Welcome back to planDisney, Andrea! I'm happy to hear you're planning a
jolly holiday that even Mary Poppins would approve of! As part of Walt Disney World's flagship resort hotel, the
Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa have those unmistakable white buildings and red gabled roofs, which give me goosebumps every time!
Guests staying in the villas may proceed directly to the porte-cochère at the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) building adjacent to the Wedding Pavilion and Senses Spa. You'll find a separate bell services desk, and you are welcome to leave your bags with the Cast Members while waiting for your room to be ready. We did this when we stayed here in July, and we were also able to pick up our grocery delivery order later in the day here as well.
The lobby area for the villas is small but well-appointed, and the dancing penguin fountain is a great photo opportunity. I noticed that depending on the time of day, the concierge and Bell Services desks were unmanned, and Guests arriving at these times were required to take their luggage back to the main lobby for safekeeping.
If you opt for "
Direct-to-Room Check-In" ahead of time, you may go directly to your villa instead of the check-in desk after your room number has been sent via text message or email. When you fill out the online form, you can indicate your anticipated arrival time. While it's not guaranteed, sometimes our room is ready earlier than the official check-in time of 4:00 PM. You're also able to use the resort's amenities during this time. We like to pack our swimsuits in our carry-on bags and head to the pool (our favorite is the
Courtyard Pool which is larger and a little quieter- it also has a hot tub).
Andrea, I hope you have a
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious stay next week! See ya real soon!
