When viewing the operational hours of the Disney World Theme Parks, what does "extra magic hours" mean? Does the regular park ticket work for these hours or do you need a particular type of ticket? Thanks a million!

Hi Leslie! Great question! Extra Magic Hours are additional time in the Disney parks exclusively for guests staying in the Disney World resort hotels. Each day one park opens one hour early in the morning or stays open three hours later in the evening for Disney resort guests.  You don't need a special ticket to attend these Extra Magic Hours, but each member of the party will need to show their room key and park admission ticket  to experience attractions during these extra hours. If you want to take advantage of this extra time in the parks and you don't have the Park Hopper option on your ticket, be sure to visit the park hosting the Extra Magic Hours that day. (You won't be able to visit one park and then attend Extra Magic Hours at another if you don't have a Park Hopper.)

The Extra Magic Hours are a great perk for Disney resort guests. Because park admission is limited to Disney hotel guests during these extended hours, the lines are generally much shorter so guests can experience lots of attractions with less waiting.

Have a magical vacation! If you have more questions, please come visit me again at the Moms Panel! I'd love to help!
