We want to view Wishes from the California Grill on 4/29/09. As a group of 8 we were able to get ADR at 9:20, with Wishes scheduled at 9:00.If we check-in early will they let us go up to view the fireworks while we wait? What time should we arrive? Thanks!

I have done this before, so you should be able to do just what you described. What I would recommend is that you get there a good 15 minutes before 9 and let them know you planned on having some cocktails while you wait for your table. Then when you go upstairs, so that you don't get in the way, I would get some drinks and then go out on the open air balcony that is on the Magic Kingdom side of the Contemporary.

It also couldn't hurt though to call ahead and let them know you would like to do this. Sometimes new policies are set if people are abusing the kindness of a particular establishment. Just call the Contemporary resort (407-824-1000) and ask to be transferred to the restaurant. Let them know you plan on starting your dinner with a cocktail and that way they will log that down in their reservations book.
